Meet our amazing Teachers
Our amazing instructors come from various backgrounds – engineers, certified teachers, masters in science and PHDs but they all have one thing in common – the passion for educating our youth. We view our robotics club not merely as a business but as a community centre that will make a positive difference in our children’s future.
Reza Emami - M.Eng
My name is Reza and I am a teacher, as well as co-founder of Exceed Robotics. I have been teaching Robotics for over 4 years, have a Master’s Degree in Engineering from University of Toronto, as well as 10 years of engineering experience in Design and software.
I also design and build commercial robots for the industry. Latest project is a Robot for Hospital to go room by room and sanitize using UV light. My passion is in software and programming. I enjoy spending hours on the computer to find a small error in my program and get it to run again. Other hobbies are camping, watching documentaries and traveling.
Diego - Entrepreneurship
My name is Diego Soto Rivero and I’m currently pursuing a major in Entrepreneurship and a minor in Finance at Ryerson University. I was born and raised for some time in Havana, Cuba and emigrated to Canada in 2004. As such, I am fluent in Spanish and, thanks to my education in Canada.
I make an effort to engage with each of my students on many different topics, developing a relationship with them that allows me to better explain more abstract concepts in an easier way.
The passion that I feel for the new opportunities that this field brings to the youth is transmitted in every single class that I teach, and I make sure to motivate my students constantly.
Ben - Aerospace Engineering
Hello, my name is Benjamin. I have been teaching with Exceed Robotics for over a year. I’m currently pursuing my dream of becoming an Aerospace Engineer. My favorite topics are Physics, Programming and Robotics.
I learned to program at the age of 11 by making modifications for video games, and thus I can relate to the struggles that my students experience when trying to learn such advanced topics at a young age. I am in love with technology and the science behind it, and this really drives me to empower kids with the skills they need to tackle robotics and STEM. My absolute favourite feeling is seeing one of my student’s eyes light up once they’ve grasped a difficult topic or overcome a serious challenge, and I am very happy that I have the opportunity to see this every day.
Dorra - PhD
When the Canadian weather is clement Dorra is outside with her family taking pictures of stars and galaxies. On cold and rainy days, she can be found in the kitchen with her kids exploring DIY science projects.
Dorra has a PhD in Radiation Physics, a broad multi-disciplinary field that requires advanced knowledge in Atomic and Molecular Physics, Quantum Chemistry and Programming.
Currently, Dorra is a project manager at IBM for Eclipse OMR, a framework that would allow anyone to build a compiler runtime.
Sanaz - PhD
My name is Sanaz and I am fortunate to be part of an excellent and innovative group of instructors at Exceed Robotics. I have a PhD in Food Science with over 10 years of teaching experience (If you’re wondering…yes, I am a foodie, too!)
Rohan - Mechanical Engineering
My name is Rohan and I am a Mechanical Engineering Technology student as well as an instructor at Exceed Robotics. After the completion of my diploma, I aspire to become a Mechanical Engineer.
